Five layers against the wall.RETECH RDD dimple drain sheet — as fixed to basement and retaining walls.
Concrete wall
Basement or retaining wall. Everything outside it exists to keep water pressure off this face.
Waterproofing membrane
Bonded to the wall. The dimple sheet keeps backfill and stones from ever touching it.
RETECH RDD dimple sheet
Rigid HDPE with formed studs. It takes the backfill load and leaves a continuous gap for water to run down.
Stud height on request · Sheet on requestGeotextile, non-woven
Laid over the studs as a filter. Water passes into the gap; soil fines stay in the backfill.
Grade on requestBackfill and footing drain
Free-draining backfill. At the footing a RETECH perforated pipe collects the water and carries it away.
illustrationWhat it is
Dimple drainage sheet (HDPE dimple board), made by Retech Geosolutions in Gujarat and supplied across India and for export.
Rigid HDPE sheet with formed studs. Fixed against basement and retaining walls, it keeps backfill off the waterproofing and channels water down to the drain, relieving pressure on the wall.
Features
- Easy and quick installation
- Resistant to plant roots
- Removes excess water quickly
- Increases waterproofing durability
- High load-bearing capacity at various depths
- Contributes to sound insulation
- Protects the waterproofing system against mechanical forces
- High resistance to natural groundwater, soil acids and alkalis
- Economical compared with wall braiding, polystyrene foam or gravel drains
Applications
- Retaining walls — protects waterproofing against backfill damage and ground chemicals
- Curtain-wall waterproofing and thermal insulation protection
- Foundation curtains and basement floors — protective layer over waterproofing before reinforcement and concrete
- Ventilated cavity that lets the curtain wall breathe
How it works
Retech dimple drainage sheet is a protective membrane for waterproofing. It keeps basements dry and relieves hydrostatic pressure on the foundation, which extends the life of both the waterproofing and the structure. It is also resistant to plant roots.
It separates the retaining wall from the soil and protects it from water and damp. Evenly spaced dimples stiffen the sheet and leave a path for water between them, so moisture runs down to the footings and on to the sump.

Questions buyers ask
What is a dimple drainage sheet?
A rigid HDPE sheet with formed studs (dimples). Fixed against a basement or retaining wall, it keeps backfill off the waterproofing and gives water a path down to the footing drain, relieving pressure on the wall.
Where is dimple sheet used?
On retaining and basement walls; in foundation curtains and under basement floors, as a protective layer over the waterproofing before reinforcement and concrete; and behind curtain walls, where the air gap lets the wall breathe.
Dimple sheet or drain cell?
Dimple sheet suits vertical walls and protection under slabs. Drain cells are for horizontal, load-bearing drainage under podium gardens, decks and pavements, where water has to move across a wide area.
