Geocell

Five layers. One stable slope.RETECH RCD geocell — as laid on cut and fill slopes.

Prepared slope

Trimmed and compacted. The cells will hold whatever is placed on it.

Geotextile, non-woven

Filter layer under the cells. Water passes through; the fines of the slope behind it stay in place.

RETECH RCD geocell

HDPE strips welded into a honeycomb, expanded on site and pinned. The cell walls confine the infill against sliding.

Cell depth on request · Weld spacing on request

Infill

Topsoil, sand or aggregate compacted into each cell.

Vegetation

Roots bind through the cells. The slope is protected from the first rain, not the first season.

What it is

HDPE geocell for slopes, channels and weak subgrades, made by Retech Geosolutions in Gujarat and supplied across India and for export.

HDPE strips welded into a honeycomb that expands on site. Filled with sand, soil or aggregate, the cells confine the infill — stabilising slopes and carrying load on weak subgrades.

Features

  • Three-dimensional honeycomb structure
  • Light weight, durable and cost effective
  • Easy transport and installation
  • High resistance to tensile stress, tearing, punching and fatigue

Applications

  • Stabilisation of steep slope surfaces
  • Protective linings of channels and hydraulic structures
  • Static and dynamic load support on weak subgrades
  • Multi-layered earth-retaining and water-retaining gravity structures

How it works

Retech geocells are three-dimensional, expandable panels of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). On site the strips are expanded into a flexible honeycomb, and the cells are filled with sand, soil or aggregate and compacted.

The result is a free-draining layer that holds the infill in place: the cell walls confine it and stop it moving, so the soil or aggregate carries more load and resists erosion.

Questions buyers ask

What material is geocell made of?

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) strips, welded into a honeycomb that is shipped flat and expanded on site.

What is geocell technology?

Confinement. Filled with sand, soil or aggregate, the cell walls stop the infill moving sideways, so it carries more load, drains freely and resists erosion, on slopes, channel linings and weak subgrades.

What is the cost of geocell per square metre?

It depends on cell depth, weld spacing, quantity and the infill, which is usually sourced locally. The geocell calculator gives panel type, panel count, weight and infill for your area; send it to the desk for a quote.
