illustrationWhat it is
Drainage geocomposite, supplied by Retech Geosolutions across India and for export.
A drainage core with a filter geotextile bonded to both sides. Water passes through the fabric into the core and flows along it to the outlet, while the fabric keeps soil out. One thin layer replaces a granular drainage blanket.
Applications
- Behind retaining walls and bridge abutments
- Under landfill caps and over liners
- Sub-surface drains beside roads
- Under sports fields and landscaped decks
Questions buyers ask
What is a drainage geocomposite?
A drainage core between two layers of filter geotextile. The core carries water in its own plane; the fabric lets water in and keeps soil out.
Geocomposite or gravel drain?
A geocomposite is a thin, uniform layer that is quick to lay and needs no imported aggregate; a gravel drain is thicker and heavier but uses local material. The choice depends on the flow needed and what is available on site, and Retech engineers can compare both for your section.
How is a drainage geocomposite specified?
By in-plane flow capacity at the design load (EN ISO 12958) and by the filter properties of the fabric, opening size and permeability, not by thickness alone.
